Heartburn and Fetal Hair
There is a common myth that heartburn during pregnancy is related to the growth of the fetus’s hair. However, the truth is that heartburn in pregnancy is associated with hormonal changes, especially the hormone progesterone, as its increase leads to relaxation of the valve between the stomach and the esophagus and slows down the digestion process. In addition, the increasing size of the uterus, especially in the last trimester of pregnancy, increases pressure on the stomach and intestines.
