Section 01
GBS Bacteria Screening
This test is performed by taking a vaginal swab from the pregnant woman in the third trimester of pregnancy. If this bacteria appears in the sample, the woman is given antibiotics during labor.
Section 02
There is no consensus among different medical schools regarding the necessity of performing this test routinely for all pregnant women. However, everyone agrees on the importance of performing it for women who complain of increased vaginal discharge, or who have a history of preterm delivery or a previous infection in an earlier pregnancy.
Section 03
There is no need to take antibiotics if the delivery is a planned cesarean section.
