Breastfeeding and Fasting
A breastfeeding mother is allowed to fast in the following cases:
If she does not suffer from any chronic disease such as diabetes or low blood pressure.
If she compensates for food and fluids during the iftar period.
If the infant is older than the first six months of life.
Since not consuming anything for 24 hours may not affect the quantity or nutritional value of breast milk, fasting is not considered an obstacle to breastfeeding the baby.
Breast milk can also be expressed during the iftar period and stored in the refrigerator to feed the baby during the day, enabling the mother to fast without affecting her health or the health of her child.
